Summary of Position
The Delivery Driver Class A will deliver and unload various company products, including seafood, beef, poultry, and gourmet products. The employee will act as the key point of contact with the customer, providing excellent customer service. The incumbent will maintain high safety standards while operating Fortune Fish and Gourmet’s vehicle and will handle perishable products in accordance with HACCP.

- Perform all pre‑trip responsibilities to include checking route numbers and account numbers for assigned deliveries.
- Perform necessary vehicle safety inspections.
- Drive and deliver customer orders according to predetermined route.
- Load and unload products from vehicle using appropriate devices safely.
- Verify delivery of items with customer and obtain proper signatures confirming receipt.
- Contact management to discuss issues or concerns as they arise.
- Perform all post‑delivery actions, including unloading damaged product, customer returns, and completing necessary documents.
- Follow DOT and HACCP regulations during operation of the truck and handling of product.
- Monitor that temperature‑controlled vehicles maintain required temperature limits.
- Develop and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and goodwill by providing professional assistance.
- Collect money from customers and record transactions properly.
- Ensure safety training is current as per company policy.
- Support the Fleet Manager by ensuring vehicles are maintained according to schedule.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent. - Experience:
2‑3 years of commercial driving experience; transportation of temperature‑controlled product preferred. - Customer Service:
Friendly, outgoing, and courteous demeanor. - Work ethic:
Sense of urgency and ability to work with limited supervision. - Licensing:
Valid Class A License. - Availability:
Able to work long shifts and Saturdays. - Language:
Basic English‑speaking proficiency.
- Prolonged standing, sitting, walking, and driving.
- Regularly able to lift up to 80 pounds; may occasionally need to lift over 80 pounds.
- Requires constant mental and visual attention.
- Repetitive reaching, bending, twisting, pushing, and pulling.
- Must pass a Medical Examiner’s Certification.
