Job Summary

Certified LPN at North Mississippi Health Services plays a vital role in providing a wide variety of nursing functions to support the medical plan of care, adhering to hospital/departmental policies and procedures. Patient

Care
  • Provides a wide variety of nursing functions to support the medical plan of care in compliance with hospital/departmental policies and procedures.
  • Assists in maintaining patient records through daily nursing summaries, Medicare charting, acute care charting, and accurate medication administration records.
  • Contributes to nursing care plan.
  • Provides patient/family teaching necessary for continuing care during and after discharge.
  • Performs IV therapy utilizing hospital guidelines.
Qualifications Education
  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent (Required)
  • Other (Experience) – Must meet continuing education requirements as defined (Required)
Licenses and Certifications
  • LPN – Licensed Practical Nurse (State Licensure) (Required)
  • CPR – Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation

Skills and Abilities
  • Maintains knowledge and skills necessary to provide age‑appropriate care.
  • Must complete 24-32 hours orientation MIS computer training.
  • Organizes and prioritizes work assignments.
  • Delegates assignments appropriately to nursing assistants.
  • Assists new employees in their orientation.
  • Projects positive image of the unit to all customers.
  • Maintains a good working relationship with medical staff, unit personnel, and all ancillary departments.
  • Demonstrates effective interpersonal skills.
