Job SummaryThe Nurse Practitioner delivers high-quality patient care in clinic and long-term care settings under the direction of a physician preceptor. Responsibilities include assessing, diagnosing, treating patients, providing education on health and wellness, and maintaining accurate documentation. The role requires strong clinical competence, effective communication, and ability to work independently while adhering to standards and regulations.
Patient Care- Assesses, diagnoses, and treats patients in the clinic and/or long‑term care setting per Board of Nursing scope, approved protocols, and national standards.
- Provides education related to disease process, health, and wellness to patients and families.
- Serves as a resource for community agencies as appropriate.
- Ensures timely and accurate documentation of patient status and care activities, including treatments, procedures, and prescribed medications.
- Stays abreast of changes in medical management and participates in health care education activities.
- Assesses, diagnoses, and treats patients in the clinic and/or long‑term care setting per scope of practice.
- Maintains patient education and community resource coordination.
- Documents patient care accurately and promptly.
- Engages in continuous education and professional development.
- Master’s Degree in Nursing (required).
- Ph.D. Doctorate Degree (preferred).
- Board certification in Advanced Practice Nursing (preferred).
- 1–3 years of RN experience in a clinical setting (required); advanced practice experience preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong knowledge of current technology and patient care practices.
- Compliance with HIPAA confidentiality and safety regulations.
- Standing, walking, and walking frequently.
- Sitting occasionally.
- Lifting/carrying occasionally up to 100 lb.
- Repetitive motions, speaking, hearing, and eye/hand coordination regularly.
- Continuing education support.
