The position is hospital-based and primarily provides inpatient care, managing acute or critically ill patients. The physician will perform endoscopies generated from the emergency department and the inpatient consult service. Competency in basic upper and lower endoscopy, enteral access (PEG placement), and management of GI emergencies such as upper/lower GI bleeding, food impactions, and volvulus is required. Collaboration with 1–2 established interventional endoscopists and other NM subspecialists is expected.
Responsibilities- Opportunity available at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, IL and at Delnor Hospital in Geneva, IL
- Schedule:
26 weeks, 7-day weeks, 12-hour days (1 week on / 1 week off) - Supported by an Advanced Practice Provider to facilitate inpatient consults and transition of care

- EPIC electronic health record system
Fellowship trained BE/BC general Gastroenterologist. Must be board certified in gastroenterology (American Board of Internal Medicine). Competency in basic upper and lower endoscopy, enteral access (PEG placement), and management of GI emergencies.
