Job DescriptionThe Certified Surgical Tech reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and other regulatory and accreditation standards. The Certified Surgical Tech facilitates the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures.

Sign‑On Bonus – $15,000 for 3 years of ortho experience or $20,000 for 3+ years of specialty OR experience.
Must scrub Orthopedic procedures and be required to take specialty call – 80 hrs per month.
Internal and rehire candidates with less than one year of experience are not eligible for the sign‑on bonus.
Responsibilities- Prepares surgical operating suite with drapes, medications, solutions, instruments, equipment, implants, and supplies. Ensures availability and functionality of equipment and instruments.
- Assists with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.
- Passes instruments to physician during surgery. Continually accounts for number and location of instruments and supplies during surgery.
- Receives and processes specimens, if required, for delivery to the laboratory.
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) within twelve months of hire
- CPR – Basic Life Support
- Physical Demands:
- Lift/carry up to 50 pounds and a push/pull force up to 50 pounds
Internal employees and rehires who left Northwestern Medicine within one year are not eligible for the sign‑on bonus. Exception:
New graduate internal employees seeking their first licensed clinical position at NM may be eligible depending upon the job family.
