Salary Range: $42.12 – $58.97 per hour. Placement within this range depends on experience and internal equity. For union positions this follows the collective bargaining agreement.

Responsibilities- Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures according to department standards and protocols.
- Utilize equipment and accessories, employ techniques and procedures, and demonstrate expertise in limiting patient exposure.
- Assess situations, exercise care, discretion and judgment, and assume responsibility for professional decisions and patient education.
- Communicate and observe to obtain pertinent information for the physician to aid in diagnosis and treatment management.
- Assess physician orders and correlate with consult request.
- Select appropriate materials and equipment for the designated examination.
- Instruct patient on motion and breathing techniques.
- Identify all films with correct patient name and anatomic positioning.
- Perform proper darkroom technique and develop images.
- Ensure exposure and positioning quality assurance of film images.
- Use discretion to improvise procedures while keeping radiologist approval.
- Set up and prepare a sterile tray, including procedure‑specific needs, medications, guide wires, catheters, and other ancillary equipment.
- Provide evidence of continuing education.
- Instruction and clinical supervision of students enrolled in an approved ultrasound program.
- Demonstrate proficiency in gathering data, assessing, and responding to patient cognitive, psychomotor, physiological, and emotional needs appropriate to patient ages.
- Maintain knowledge of all patient care areas and their locations.
- Adhere to operational protocols in various patient care areas.
- Perform introduction and proper patient identification.
- Evaluate patients’ overall condition.
- Assist patients to and from the examination suite.
- Report potential hazards that may jeopardize patient and personnel safety.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
Required:
- Graduation from an accredited Ultrasound program or a college‑based two‑year training program with clinical education in an accredited health‑care setting.
- Technical competency in small‑parts scanning.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- ARDMS (BR) or ARRT (BS) certification within 12 months of hire.
- CPR‑Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association.
- Physical demands: lifting or carrying up to 50 pounds and pushing or pulling up to 50 pounds.
Preferred:
- Associate’s degree.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Three or more years of experience.
