Location:

Central DuPage Hospital, Elk Grove Village, IL

Salary: $20.71 - $26.92 per hour (dependent on experience)

Description

The Surgery Scheduler reflects NM’s mission, vision, and values, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the scheduling of surgeries and related procedures.
  • Select appropriate preference cards for procedures based on physician booking sheets.
  • Determine and coordinate availability of staff, rooms, and equipment in collaboration with charge nurses and managers.
  • Communicate with physicians, other departments, and healthcare team members to ensure availability of facilities and staff.
  • Schedule patient appointment times using computerized scheduling programs.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Required
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Preferred
  • Medical terminology training.
