Rehabilitation Patient Access Specialist Float – Full Time – Winfield, IL
Perform department‑based reception and clerical functions. Manage appointment scheduling, patient intake, and EPIC data entry. Serve as the first point of contact for patients, staff, and department services.
Responsibilities- Act as receptionist greeting staff and patients.
- Answer telephone calls and communicate messages clearly.
- Communicate effectively with all levels of staff and patients.
- Take special projects as needed. Prioritize work quickly.
- Coordinate clerical work with senior/clinical staff.
- Process invoices/purchase requests and maintain supplies.
- Manage Department Appointment Report in EPIC.
- Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient visits.
- Follow departmental requirements, including questionnaires and coordination.
- Schedule new evaluations, cancellations, rescheduling, and wait‑list.
- “Arrive” patients efficiently and complete end‑of‑day processing.
- Maintain accurate MRN, demographic, insurance, and billing data.
- Access unscheduled orders work queues and maintain expectations.
- Monitor and maintain rehabilitation work queues by registration.
- Collect payments, reconcile balances, and manage therapist monthly schedules.
- Schedule meetings, block PTO, and manage phone calls to new evaluations.
- Enter orders and evaluate orders; consult technicians as needed.
- Assume scanning, faxing, coding, patient accounts, and financial clearance tasks.
- Two years’ experience in front office with computer skills.
- High School graduate.
- Successful completion of EPIC training for scheduling and registration.
- $10,000 Tuition Reimbursement per year (part‑time).
