Job Overview
Registered Nurse – Medical Care Center, Full Time, Nights (7:00 pm – 7:30 am) with rotating weekends. 3,000 sign‑on bonus. External candidates must have at least one year of experience to qualify for the bonus.
Location and UnitCDH Medical Care Center (4 A / B / C) – 72‑bed unit serving adult general medical and medical oncology patients. Adult medical patients are predominantly admitted with gastrointestinal disorders, heart or lung conditions ranging from acute to chronic, plus metabolic disorders, infectious processes, skin integrity and neurological or circulatory impairments. Patients age 18 – geriatric.
Responsibilities- Provide nursing care in accordance with clinical protocols and scope of practice.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Assess patient condition, document findings, and administer medications and treatments.
- Participate in unit and hospital quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
- Serve as educator for patients, families, and new staff.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Current Illinois Registered Professional Nurse license
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Strong interpersonal and analytic skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with others
- Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) acceptable with commitment to obtain a BSN from an accredited program within three years of first day of employment.
- Experience in specific clinical area (e.g., medical oncology, general medical)
- Experience in Emergency Room or Pediatric Emergency Room
- Trauma Nurse Specialist (TNS)
- Emergency Communications Registered Nurse
- Certified Pediatric Nurse
- Certified Emergency Nurse
