OverviewThe Clinical Team Lead, RN reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Personal Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and accreditation standards. The role provides support to the clinical staff by facilitating efficient patient flow, assisting with patient care activities, and performing related administrative functions. This position leads the work of Staff Nurses and Certified Medical Assistants, ensures efficient patient flow through the clinic, maintains neat, clean and safe patient care areas, promotes patient satisfaction, and safeguards patient confidentiality.
Responsibilities- Leads the work of clinical staff within the practice.
- Serves as a role model and resource to clinical staff.
- Provides training and orientation to all staff nurses and medical assistants, and maintains training and orientation materials and records.
- Creates and manages the staffing schedule.
- Monitors and evaluates policies and procedures to suggest operational changes.
- Participates in conferences and meetings, and represents the work unit on organizational initiatives.
- Ensures efficient patient flow through the site.
- Performs all aspects of patient care using evidence-based practice to optimize patient safety and reduce errors.
- Follows the medication rights and administers medications based on patient age and clinical condition.
- States rationale for clinical decisions based on critical thinking.
- Assesses and analyzes data to determine patient care needs and integrates into the plan of care.
- Identifies patient learning needs and barriers to learning; educates patients and families as needed.
- Explains procedures, therapies, and treatments to patient and family; documents responses to teaching.
- Involves patient/family in care planning and discharge planning.
- Assesses and manages pain; educates on pain management.
- Uses quality improvement results to initiate changes in nursing practice and healthcare delivery.
- Participates in shared governance, committees, and department projects.
- Provides high-quality care and supports safe, effective clinical operations.
Required
:
- Current experience (within past five years) or new nursing graduate (within past two years). If experience is longer than five years, a nursing refresher may be required.
- Graduate of an accredited 2- or 3-year nursing program.
- Current license as a Registered Professional Nurse or eligible in the State of Illinois.
- BLS certification.
Preferred
:
- BSN strongly preferred upon hire.
- One to two years of ambulatory care experience.
- Experience with electronic medical record systems.
