Talented Medical Solutions is seeking a caring and experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN) for a contract opportunity in Winfield, Kansas. In this role, you’ll provide essential care during one of life’s most meaningful moments, all while working in a supportive, collaborative environment.
This opportunity is ideal for travel nurses or local RNs passionate about maternal care and looking for a rewarding experience in a welcoming, family-oriented town.
About
The Role
As an L&D RN, you’ll care for patients through the entire childbirth process—from labor and delivery through postpartum recovery. You’ll monitor mothers and newborns, assist physicians and midwives, and ensure a safe and positive experience for families.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor laboring patients and fetal heart rates
- Administer medications, IVs, and epidurals as ordered
- Assist in deliveries and emergency C-sections
- Provide postpartum care and education to new mothers
- Maintain accurate documentation and communicate with the care team
- Respond quickly to obstetric emergencies and follow clinical protocols
- Active Kansas RN license (or willing to obtain)
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications
- Minimum 1 year of recent L&D nursing experience required
- Strong assessment skills and calm, confident demeanor in high-stress situations
- Compassionate, patient-first mindset
