Wildlife Educator – South Region (Las Vegas, NV)
The Wildlife Educator for the south region will serve in Las Vegas, Nevada, with the Nevada Department of Wildlife.
Schedule:
Mon‑Fri 8 am–4 pm (hours vary by season; many weekends). Term of Service & Time Requirements:
Three‑quarter term, 1200 hours. Start date 01/16/2026 – 08/31/2026. Monthly stipend $2,066.66 with an education award after successful completion of the term of $5,176.50.
Mission: To protect, conserve, manage, and restore wildlife and its habitat for the aesthetic, scientific, educational, recreational, and economic benefits to citizens of Nevada and the United States, and to promote the safety of persons using vessels on the waters of Nevada.
Member Duties- Support classroom programming, field trips, and community programming in the Las Vegas area.
- Facilitate statewide Wildlife Education programming in classrooms and other Conservation Education venues.
- Help develop and facilitate regional Outdoor Education events demonstrating archery, fishing, and hunting activities for families.
- Facilitate, evaluate, and fine‑tune existing Conservation Education programming, develop new programs, train volunteers, and assist on volunteer projects.
- Assist and educate visitors at the Lake Mead Hatchery Visitor Center.
