We are seeking a Lithium Carbonate Plant Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting Lithium America’s efforts in building, commissioning, and operating the process plant in Thacker Pass in a safe and effective manner. The role serves as the leader to manage the operations of the Lithium Carbonate Plant. The Lithium Carbonate Plant Manager will oversee all daily operations of this facility from production and ensuring policies and procedures are followed.

This role will help develop processes or review processes that will maximize stewardship, safety, quality, and productivity of the Lithium Carbonate Plant and associated areas. The role will also look to continually improve safety for these processes. The successful candidate will possess strong communication and leadership skills with a track record of problem solving and will be familiar with typical acid production and chemical processing equipment.

The role is based at our Winnemucca, NV office and reports to the Thacker Pass Plant Manager. Occasional travel to other LAC offices, project sites, or vendor locations may be required.

• Review, create and implement a positive safety and environmentally sound culture with the right procedures and programs for the Lithium Carbonate plant and associated areas.
• Set up the operations team to commission and start up the Lithium Carbonate Plant at Thacker Pass and bring it to design capacity.
• Provide advice and guidance to contractors, employees, and consultants to ensure Company and corporate standards are applied and maintained.
• Plan, organize, direct, and run optimum day-to-day operations for the Lithium Carbonate Plant and associated area at Thacker Pass.
• Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results.
• Be responsible for production output, product quality and on-time availability of the Lithium Carbonate Plant.
• Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus.
• Maintain the Lithium Carbonate Plant and associated areas per MSHA, OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other requirements as needed.
• Share a trusting relationship with workgroup, manage and develop staff for the Lithium Carbonate Plant and associated areas.
