Accountant, Financial Analyst, Financial Reporting

• Performs clerical and data entry support to meet contractual requirements for operational and basic accounting.
• Processes all accounts payable and accounts received in a timely and accurate manner.
• Provides project teams with ad hoc reports and analysis as the need arises.
• Assists with the assembly of information for internal and external financial reporting requirements.
• Assembles client billings packages in accordance with contract terms and conditions and ensures timely payment.
• Prepares bank deposits and cash receipt entries.
• Supports finance department through collecting, matching, batching, seeking approval and processing vouchers through PCL business systems in a timely and accurate manner to meet payment terms and conditions.
• Ensures compliance with government legislation with regards to taxation including but no limited to Goods and Services Tax, Harmonized Sales Tax and Provincial Sales Tax.
• Ensures purchase orders are complete and updated with accurate information.
• Reviews supplier statements and resolve inquiries.
• Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in accounting and or finance.
• 1 year of accounting experience.
• Exposure to project forecasting and budgeting.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles, including maintenance of ledgers and cash flows.
• Exposure to project costing principles, recoveries, insurance, and contract/subcontract requirements as related to accounting
• Exposure to subcontract purchase order terms, including insurance and subcontractor default insurance requirements.
• Basic understanding of lien rights.
• Ability to act with the required discretion when handling confidential information.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multi task and prioritize tasks with conflicting demands.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Understanding of Microsoft Office Suite and experience with accounting software is an asset.
