The Senior Accountant will complete, support and guide assurance and non-assurance engagements for a variety of clients, lead consulting engagements or special assignments, identify client service opportunities, and contribute to the overall quality and success of engagements.

• Complete, support and guide assurance and non-assurance engagements for a variety of clients
• Lead consulting engagements or special assignments and identify client service opportunities
• Preparation and review of financial statements
• Complete corporate and personal income tax returns
• Identify and resolve engagement issues
• Train and mentor junior staff
• Develop and maintain positive and productive working relationships
• Support practice and professional development initiatives
• Participate in business development initiatives
• Proactively follow up with clients and build positive working relationships
• Respond effectively to stakeholder or client requests or queries and keep the team apprised of potential issues

• Postsecondary degree or diploma in Accounting or Business
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in accounting; public practice experience is preferred
• Strong understanding of full cycle accounting processes
• Experience training and mentoring entry-level employees
• Experience with Case Ware, Tax Prep, Sage 300 (ACCPAC), Sage 50 (Simply Accounting), Quick Books, and Quick Books Online is an asset
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly MS Excel
• Ability to prioritize and manage deliverables, adhering to time and budget constraints
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Excellent client service skills with the aptitude to understand clients’ business and maintain strong client relationships
