About the RoleOur client is seeking a hands‑on Senior Accountant to join its fast‑paced, multi‑division environment, ideally with experience in construction, recycling, transportation services, or manufacturing. The role is responsible for full‑cycle accounting, project financials, and working papers, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting for both executive and operational leadership. Reporting to the Controller, this is an in‑office role working closely with the finance team on a daily basis.
Key Responsibilities- Full‑cycle accounting for the client and affiliated companies
- Month‑end close, including journal entries, financial statements, working papers, reporting, and analysis
- Account reconciliations, treasury support, bank reconciliations, and cash flow monitoring
- Fixed asset, lease, and covenant tracking and maintenance
- Payment processing (wire/EFT) and tax filings (GST, PST, and other government remittances)
- Coordination with A/R and A/P teams to ensure accuracy and timeliness while maintaining confidentiality and supporting continuous improvement and cross‑functional collaboration
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- 3–5 years of experience in full cycle accounting, specifically within construction, heavy civil, recycling, or marine environments
- CPA (Certified Public Accountant) designation is highly preferred
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs)
- Experience with construction specific ERP or accounting software such as Sage 300, Sage Intact, MS Dynamics
- Solid analytical thinking and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- The ability to communicate complex financial data to non‑financial team members
The company is headquartered in downtown New Westminster, just steps from Sky Train and public transit, and close to shops, restaurants, and a vibrant, bustling city centre. This is a full‑time, in‑office role with no remote or hybrid flexibility.
Compensation & BenefitsSalary range: $90,000 to $105,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The top end of the range is intended for candidates who possess all preferred qualifications and a minimum of 5 years of directly relevant experience.
