Take your accounting skills to the next level with The City of Winnipeg as an Accountant for Pension & Benefit Plans. This permanent, full-time role offers extensive responsibilities in financial management.
As part of the Winnipeg Civic Employees Benefits Program, you will play a vital role in accurate financial reporting and compliance with Pension & Benefit Plans. Your knowledge of accounting principles will be essential in controlling general ledgers and preparing tax filings to meet statutory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements
• Ensure compliance with Canadian GAAP standards
• Supervise finance staff and improve operational processes
• Manage cash flow for pension operations
• Prepare necessary tax documentation and filings
Requirements:
• Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA)
• Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline
• 3-5 years of accounting experience
• Strong analytical skills in finance
• Ability to prioritize tasks effectively
