Position: Tax Associate (Term)

Status - Regular Full-Time Term (Up to 6 month)

In your role as a Tax Associate, you will provide advice and support related to the payment and reporting of income taxes, and the completion of tax returns and other tax-related documents.

Your Role:

Prepare and review personal income tax returns in a timely manner
Assign tax returns to tax preparers in a timely manner
Answer tax inquiries over the phone, email, and fax from internal and external customers
Review and process documentation to support tax return filings
Apply defined practices, procedures, and company policies to troubleshoot and resolve product and tax support customer inquiries
Administrative related tasks

Qualifications, Required Skills, &

Experience:

Experience preparing personal income tax returns. Experience with Northern Residents Deduction, Northern Residents Travel Deduction, Status Indians, and experience in Quebec tax return preparation an asset
Formal tax training with at least one year of experience working in tax preparation office
Active CRA My Account and Rep
Business Accountancy Diploma or Accounting Degree, and/or appropriate professional experience
Proficiency using tax preparation’s software programs. Experience with DT Max software an asset
Strong computer skills; proficiency in MS Excel and Outlook
Strong written and verbal communication skills
High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
Reliable
Ability to adapt to change quickly
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Availability to adjust hours, and work additional hours and weekends as business requires
