Become a Library Service Assistant 3 with the Community Services Department at the Millennium Library. This full-time, on-site position focuses on cataloging, database maintenance, and inventory management.
As a Support Services Technician, you will engage with library materials, including ordering and invoicing new arrivals. Your primary responsibilities include monitoring MARC records, maintaining in-house databases, and performing original cataloging for collections. Attention to detail, effective communication, and the ability to work independently are essential skills for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
• Order and invoice new library materials
• Monitor vendor-supplied MARC records
• Maintain integrated library system database
• Perform original cataloging of materials
• Ensure correct receipt of library supplies
Requirements:
• Library Technician’s Diploma from accredited college
• Basic mathematical and web tool skills
• Knowledge of cataloging standards like RDA and MARC
• Typing speed of at least 40 words per minute
• Ability to adapt and work with minimal supervision
