Introduction

Manitoba Public Service Delivery is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of an Administrative Assistant in Portage la Prairie.

Duties:
Under the general direction of the Manager of Administration and Finance, the incumbent is responsible to provide administrative support to branch staff in the day to day administration of Crown Lands transactions and various other types of real estate transactions. This includes regular administrative support duties (incoming and outgoing mail, reception duties, office supply orders, filing, copying, searches, updating spreadsheets, other duties as assigned), as well as incoming Requests for Services and circulations to other departments.

Qualifications:

Essential:
  • Post-secondary education in an administrative field and/or experience performing various administrative, clerical and reception duties in an office type of environment such as, but not limited to: tracking correspondence, processing incoming and outgoing mail, filing, managing calendars and shared inboxes, coordinating meetings, answering phones, etc.
  • Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, and Outlook) or similar software applications.
  • Strong written communication skills with experience drafting, proofreading, editing and/or formatting correspondence with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize workloads and effectively manage tight deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels of the organization and external contacts.
  • Ability to work independently and solve problems.
  • Ability to work with highly sensitive material in a confidential and professional manner.
  • Desired:
  • Knowledge of real estate conveyance process.
  • Conditions of Employment:
