The Director, Performance & Innovation, Health Products will establish how product performance is measured, understood, and actively managed across the Health Products portfolio. This role will build the management disciplines, analytical capabilities, and AI-enabled tools required to improve product outcomes, strengthen accountability, and support better decisions over time. This role will also act as a change agent, helping accelerate innovation adoption that deliver measurable customer and business outcomes.
Reporting to the AVP, Health Products, this role will enable improved performance across our Health Products portfolio.
What will you do?
Product Performance Management
Define and implement a consistent product performance management framework across the Health Products portfolio, including clear measures of customer, financial, operational, and strategic outcomes.
Establish product scorecards and trend reporting on metrics including sales, profitability, customer churn, utilization and customer experience.
Implement management routines that enable leaders and product managers to assess performance, make trade-offs, and address issues early.
Create clear accountability for product performance by linking measures to business plans, investment decisions, product roadmaps, and management actions.
Lead recurring portfolio performance reviews and translate results into concise, decision-ready insights for senior leaders and key partners.
Identify material performance gaps and opportunities, mobilize focused improvement initiatives, and confirm that actions deliver intended outcomes.
Data, Analytics & AI Capability
Define the data and analytical capabilities required to measure product performance reliably and at scale, working with teams in data, finance, pricing, technology, and other functions to close critical gaps.
Build a trusted product performance data foundation, including common definitions, data quality standards, governed measures, and transparent sources of truth.
Develop analytical tools and self-service capabilities that help product teams understand performance drivers, risks, and opportunities.
Identify and scale practical applications of AI and advanced analytics that improve forecasting, diagnosis, decision support, and management efficiency.
Innovation Adoption
Accelerate the adoption of innovation including AI for the Health Products portfolio, focused on applying proven tools, practices and technologies that improve product performance and business outcomes.
Partner with product leaders to identify high-value opportunities, assess readiness and expected value, and prioritize innovations with a credible path to adoption and measurable impact.
Design practical adoption plans, pilots, playbooks, and enablement supports that help product teams incorporate new capabilities into day-to-day management rather than treating innovation as a stand-alone activity.
Measure adoption, realized value, and business outcomes; address barriers to scale; and discontinue initiatives that do not demonstrate sufficient impact.
Leadership & Influence
Build and lead a high-performing team with strengths in performance management, analytics, innovation adoption, and business problem solving.
Establish strong relationships with product leaders and functional partners, using evidence and constructive challenge to improve decisions, accelerate adoption, and strengthen outcomes.
Promote a culture of measurable outcomes, transparency, curiosity, experimentation, and continuous improvement.
What do you need to succeed?
10+ years of progressively senior experience in performance management, group benefits pricing, management consulting, or a related discipline.
An advanced degree or professional designation in actuarial science, business administration, accounting, or a related discipline is considered an asset.
Experience in group benefits or health insurance is preferred.
Strong analytical acumen, with the ability to connect customer, operational, risk, and financial measures into a coherent view of product performance.
Proven ability to convert complex analysis into clear implications, decisions, and actions for senior leaders and cross-functional partners.
