As a Building Official reporting to the Chief Building Official, your expertise will guide contractors and developers through the complexities of the Ontario Building Code. Your responsibilities will include responding to inquiries, conducting inspections, and preparing essential documentation to ensure compliance at all levels. Your attention to detail and communication skills will shape the safety and quality of community construction.
Key Responsibilities- Respond to inquiries about building permits and compliance
- Conduct comprehensive inspections and maintain records
- Enforce provisions of the Ontario Building Code Act
- Evaluate applications for adherence to building standards
- File building activity reports for municipal and federal agencies
- Relevant post-secondary diploma or equivalent experience
- Completion of provincial exams related to the Building Code
- Knowledge of municipal building services regulations
- Proven communication and decision-making skills
- Valid Ontario driver's license and clean driving record
Support regulation and safety in construction as an essential Building Official in Ontario.
