Residential Labourer

Contribute to community housing with the Wiikwemkoong Housing Department as a Residential Labourer. This role involves assisting with construction and home repair projects on-site, ensuring protected and quality work.

The Wiikwemkoong Housing Department is seeking ten motivated Labourers to support their residential construction initiatives. You will assist in handling building materials and install various components while maintaining site safety and cleanliness. Your work will directly impact improving housing conditions within the Wiikwemkoong Unceded Territory community.

• Follow safety protocols and wear personal protective equipment
• Assist in transporting and installing building materials
• Help install foundations, framing, roofing, and more
• Maintain construction sites by removing hazards
• Operate hand and power tools under supervision

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Experience in construction or related work considered an asset
• Knowledge of Anishinaabe culture and safety practices
• Strong communication skills and teamwork ability
• Ability to lift heavy materials and work outdoors
