Calgary Underground Construction Technician

Become an Underground Construction Technician with Valard Construction in Calgary, AB. This hands-on position emphasizes installing critical underground electrical systems for the Calgary Green Line LRT.

As a key member on the project, you will work directly under the Foreman to install vital infrastructure. This physical role includes operating heavy machinery, conducting excavations, and ensuring safety through effective cleanup practices while reading construction drawings accurately.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate mini excavators and backhoes for installations

• Erect temporary support structures and pour concrete

• Dig trenches and reinforce with concrete

• Support field crews under the Foreman's guidance

• Maintain documentation, including daily timesheets

Requirements:

• Relevant experience in underground construction or civil infrastructure

• Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean abstract

• Ability to lift 50 lbs and work outdoors

• Flexible hours based on project demands

• Skilled in reading construction drawings
