Position Overview
Aecon Construction Solutions Inc. Carpenter Foreman will be responsible for effectively delivering the civil portion of the project to ensure Aecon Construction Solutions Inc. achieves its general and specific project requirements.
- Maintain a courteous and professional relationship with clients. Respond to inquiries promptly and carry out work as required to satisfy client requests and project quality standards.
- Assist in scheduling equipment preventative maintenance or repair.
- Build a level of knowledge and understanding of safety practices, scheduling techniques, trade knowledge and employee engagement.
- Lead and mentor employees in safe work practice and knowledge.
- Maintain regular communication with Supervisors and Project Managers regarding the project’s progress, risks, and forecasts.
- Immediately correct any hazardous, unproductive, or high-risk situations and report any conditions that aren’t correctable to Supervisor.
- Ensure projects are completed according to schedule and quality standards.
- Enforce safety policies, procedures, regulations and concrete-specific procedures (hoisting, forming, fall protection).
- 5+ years carpentry experience with significant concrete/formwork foreman or lead experience.
- Strong knowledge of Engineered formwork is mandatory.
- Experience working on water treatment or sewage treatment plant projects.
- Ability to interpret complex structural, architectural, and civil drawings to ensure formwork aligns with exact specifications.
- Strong knowledge of concrete formwork systems and construction methods.
- Ability to read blueprints and construction drawings.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety.
- Proven ability to lead crews in a civil or heavy construction environment.
- Ability to stand, crouch and kneel for long periods of time.
- Manual dexterity.
- Good sense of balance when working on scaffolds, ability to work at heights.
- Ability to solve math problems quickly and accurately.
- Must be willing to work in remote job locations.
- Must have a strong understanding of safety procedures and policies on an industrial job site.
- Ability to read, understand and write English.
- Repetitive movement.
- Able to perform in a fast-paced environment.
- Continuously changing work tasks.
- Ability to lift and work with materials weighing up to 25kg.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions and environments.
- Ability to self-start and take initiative on tasks.
