Position OverviewACSI is seeking an experienced Finish Grade Dozer Operator to join the civil construction team. The successful candidate will operate dozers for precise grading, earthmoving, and site preparation, maintaining high safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities- Operate dozers to perform rough and finish grading to required elevations and tolerances.
- Read and interpret grade stakes, plans, and site layouts.
- Collaborate with surveyors, foremen, and grade personnel to meet design requirements.
- Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance checks.
- Maintain safe working distances and follow all site safety protocols.
- Communicate effectively with other operators and ground crew (radio/hand signals).
- Assist with building pads, roads, berms, and general site preparation.
- Minimum 2-3 years experience operating dozers (finish grade experience preferred).
- Strong understanding of grade control, slopes, and elevations.
- Ability to read grade stakes and plans.
- Experience on civil or underground utility projects is an asset.
- Safety tickets (CSTS, WHMIS, First Aid, Ground Disturbance) considered an asset.
- Strong awareness of site safety and hazard recognition.
- Ability to follow directions spoken or given by hand signals.
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced setting.
- Ability to lift materials weighing up to 25 kg.
- Able to sit for long periods in cramped spaces.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions and environments.
- Strong understanding of industrial safety procedures and policies.
- Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
