WHAT

THE ROLE IS ALL ABOUT!

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Project Manager is responsible for the financial, scheduling, contractual, and subcontractor management aspects of the project(s) they are assigned. The Project Manager will liaise with internal project personnel as well as the owner and their representatives. This is a Winnipeg‑based role with occasional travel to specific project locations.

ESSENTIAL CONTRIBUTIONS WE NEED FROM YOU!
  • Conduct project meetings daily, weekly, bi‑weekly, and as needed.
  • Meet with owners and engineers to communicate updates, questions, and concerns.
  • Ensure all construction activities adhere to drawings and specifications.
  • Build relationships with project owners and clients.
  • Coordinate and facilitate handover meetings between the estimating and operations departments.
  • Adhere to Sigfusson Northern’s document control processes and procedures.
  • Develop and submit all project submittals for owner/client approval.
  • Develop and update project schedules and communicate to management for planning purposes.
  • Coordinate staffing plans for supervision and hourly staff with management.
  • Schedule employee responsibilities and duties for the projects as assigned.
  • Coordinate manpower and equipment request lists.
  • Ensure development and implementation of project‑specific safety documents, training of personnel, and recordkeeping.
  • Work with safety management and on‑site safety staff to keep all safety measures updated and maintained.
  • Prepare, update, and submit cash‑flow reports for the project management team in a timely manner.
  • Procure all subcontractors required to execute on the project.
  • Negotiate scope of work, costs, payment terms, and complete subcontractor agreements.
  • Promote and monitor use of field‑tracking tools by the project team.
  • Track quantities of work produced for accounting purposes.
  • Prepare, recommend, and adhere to a project budget.
THIS IS WHAT WILL MAKE YOU A POSITIVE IMPACT!
  • Proven experience of 5+ years in a high‑volume project management role in the construction industry.
  • Diploma or degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Experience with Autodesk Construction Cloud and Open Space; proficiency with Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, and AutoCAD is an asset.
  • Experience with digital construction tools (BIM, VDC, drones, etc.) is an asset.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and documents.
  • Experience working in remote locations and large construction projects is an appealing asset.
  • Prioritise safety, quality, and environmental standards and maintain a strong safety record.
  • Confident with tablets, mobile apps, and laptops for documentation and communication.
  • Establish credibility with project leaders, employees, senior management, and clients.
  • Promote and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures effectively and professionally.
  • Strategic and tactful skills to balance operational production efficiency and safety compliance.
  • Understand the importance of collaboration across departments to ensure company success.
  • Lead by example and influence project teams to do the same.
  • Familiarity with productivity tracking, time‑entry systems, and safety reporting tools.
  • Provide and receive constructive feedback and manage and resolve conflicts professionally.
  • Adapt to a fast‑paced, ever‑changing environment requiring critical thinking and rapid prioritisation.
  • Must be able to present a clear security clearance check and pass an alcohol & drug test prior to commencing employment and, if required, throughout employment.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
