Underground Mining Project Manager

Thyssen Mining is seeking an experienced Underground Mining Project Manager to lead the planning, execution, safety, financial performance, and successful delivery of underground mining projects. The role acts as the key liaison between clients, stakeholders, and site teams while ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to quality standards.

• Lead all aspects of underground mining project delivery, including safety, operations, schedules, budgets, and performance.
• Ensure compliance with Thyssen's Safety Management Plan and all company policies, regulatory, and environmental requirements.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships and represent the company in project meetings.
• Manage project resources, workforce planning, recruitment, and team performance.
• Monitor costs, profitability, procurement, and overall project financials.
• Prepare and submit project reports, forecasts, and invoices accurately and on time.
• Coach and mentor site leadership teams, including Superintendents and Mine Captains.
• Support project estimating, tender submissions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Champion a strong safety-first culture and zero-harm mindset.
• Promote accountability, teamwork, open communication, and operational excellence.
• Provide clear direction and leadership to achieve project goals.

• Strong knowledge of underground mining operations and project management.
• Proven leadership, team-building, and workforce management skills.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking abilities.
• Proficiency with mining and operational software systems.
• Solid understanding of occupational health & safety and mining regulations.
