Position: Freelance Website Copywriter / Content Strategist
We are seeking a talented and experienced Website Copywriter/Content Strategist join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of content-first design principles and be adept at creating compelling, conversion-focused copy that aligns with our clients’ brand voice and goals. In addition to writing, this role requires the ability to produce content wireframes in Figma, outlining page narrative, content hierarchy, and the rough amount of words needed for each section.

What this Actually Is
This isn't a full-time role, and it's not a one-off gig either. We're building a pool of trusted copywriters with strong strategic skills who we can call on as projects come in.

Here's how it works: when a project lands that fits your skills, we'll reach out with the scope, timeline, and a fixed project rate. You say yes or no based on your availability. If it works, great. If not, no hard feelings, we'll come back around next time.

The writers who thrive in this arrangement are usually juggling a few clients and like the flexibility, but also want something consistent to return to rather than always hunting for the next thing. Projects come in waves so there will be quiet patches, but when we're on, we move quickly.

What the Work Looks Like
Our projects are website builds for B2B and B2C clients across a wide range of industries. Content work typically splits into two phases:

The first is narrative & messaging strategy , which involves: working closely alongside the project designer to develop the narrative and messaging direction for the site. This culminates in a client-facing presentation of strategic content recommendations and initial copy concepts.

The second is copywriting:  taking the foundational work from the first phase and developing it into polished, SEO/AEO-optimised, on-brand website copy, from first draft through revision rounds to design handoff.

Who you Are

Strong track record  writing website copy across various industries and brands , including businesses with complex offerings

Skilled at  shifting voice and tone  across projects without losing sharpness or clarity

Deep  understanding of the relationship between copy and design , with experience working in or alongside design teams

Comfortable working directly in  Figma , since all content work is produced and presented there alongside the project designer

Solid grasp of  SEO/AEO principles  and how content performs in search, including AI-assisted search

Experience  running content strategy workshops  or  leading clients through messaging development  is a strong plus

Methodical and collaborative,  with the ability to take feedback from designers, strategists, and clients and translate it into sharper copy
