School Social Worker

The successful candidate will be a Social Worker (minimum of Bachelor Degree level) and possess or be eligible for a School Clinician’s Certificate issued by Manitoba Education. The position will provide Social Work support for some schools located within the Pembina Trails School Division. Candidates must be registered with the Manitoba Institute of Registered Social Workers. Applicants must possess background and experience in the areas of:

• family issues
• behavioural needs
• mental health
• supporting families of students with special needs
• supportive counselling and therapy for children and adolescents
• accessing community based resources for children and families.
• interdisciplinary teaming
• advocacy
• crisis intervention/threat assessment
• providing staff and parent education

Employment is contingent upon satisfactory response from both Criminal Record Search and Provincial Child Abuse Registry Check and successful completion of Commit 2 Kids Training.
