POSITION TYPE CONTRACT, PART-TIME, CASUAL
Job Description
We are seeking Contract Instructors to teach specific program modules. Instructor must be dedicated to empowering Indigenous adult students by providing high quality training that integrates Indigenous knowledge, personal and community development, as well as community service and educational assistant skills. You will have the opportunity to inspire and empower Indigenous adults, fostering their growth and preparing them for impactful roles within community service and education sectors.
Responsibilities
Facilitate engaging and culturally appropriate instructional lessons that incorporate Indigenous knowledge, perspectives, and practicesDeliver training modules on child development, Indigenous culture, community development, and the skills required for teacher assistant positionsFoster an inclusive and supportive learning environment that encourages critical thinking, skill development, and personal growthCollaborate with the Curriculum Developer to ensure seamless alignment between curriculum and instructional deliveryAssess participant progress and provide timely feedback to support their learning journeyAdapt instructional strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles and individual needsMaintain accurate records of participant attendance, performance, and achievementsCollaborate with the Program Coordinator to ensure program effectiveness and participant successQualifications
Deep understanding and appreciation of Indigenous cultures, histories, and contemporary issuesExperience in teaching or instructional roles, preferably in an Indigenous education contextKnowledge of child development principles and best practices in early childhood educationFamiliarity with the education sector and the skills required for teacher assistant roles and community developmentExcellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with diverse participantsAbility to create inclusive and culturally safe learning environmentsStrong organizational skills to manage instructional materials and participant recordsFlexibility to adapt to changing needs and schedulesCommitment to lifelong learning and ongoing professional developmentBachelor Degree, Education or Social Work degree preferredRelevant training and experience in adult education, Indigenous community development and training in essential skillsAn acceptable combination of education and training may be consideredKnowledge,
