The key role of the Indigenous Community Worker is to connect Indigenous families with school resources. You will be instrumental in understanding and meeting the unique needs of Indigenous students by promoting cultural practices and collaboration with Elders. This temporary full-time position spans 10 months and aims to enhance educational experiences for students.
Key Responsibilities:
• Liaise between Indigenous families and school staff
• Support students’ daily educational needs culturally
• Promote Indigenous cultural awareness within the school
• Create opportunities for engagement with Elders
• Reflect a positive image of the Division
Requirements:
• Insight into Indigenous cultural diversity
• Communicative and empathetic approach to student support
• Experience in educational or community roles
• Openness to learning and collaboration
• Availability for full-time work over 10 months
