Taught in Spring 2027, SK509 (SA1) provides a foundational understanding of clinical group work. You’ll review the evolution of social group work and engage with group dynamics and therapeutic factors essential for practice. The course accommodates up to 35 students in a virtual asynchronous setting, allowing for a flexible learning experience.
Key Responsibilities:
• Introduce students to clinical group work practices
• Discuss stages of group development and dynamics
• Apply clinical theories relevant to group work
• Encourage engagement through virtual learning tools
• Foster skills in therapeutic group environments
Requirements:
• Master’s Degree in Social Work or related discipline
• Teaching experience with evidence of good teaching
• Verification of highest degree granted
• PhD Degree considered an asset
• Eligibility for Faculty appointment in Graduate Studies
