Overview
Health Care Aide - Vocational Teacher — Maples Collegiate. Full-time Term position (September 8, 2026 - June 30, 2027). The ideal candidate will provide quality instruction and facilitate student learning according to the prescribed curriculum. The Career Ready program offers extensive work experience, along with in-class theory for students in the division. The teacher should have connections in the Health Care industry throughout the city that can offer students work placements as a Health Care Aide.
The course is run under an articulation agreement with Red River College.
- Experienced licenced Registered Nurse (R.N.)
- Four years experience in a related field or two years practical experience.
- Registered member in good standing with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba.
- Previous experience in teaching or supervision of students is desired.
- Experience with student centered learning approaches would be an asset.
- Certificate in Adult Education, Technical Vocational Teacher Education diploma or Permanent Vocational Teacher Certificate is an asset.
- Strong network of industry Professionals with experience creating or facilitating internships.
- Relevant industry skills and knowledge relating to the area of instruction, including ongoing professional development and continuous improvement.
- Interest in pedagogical and multi-modal education approaches an asset.
- Advanced oral and written communication skills, including presentation and group facilitation.
- Ability to motivate and inspire students.
- Ability to work cooperatively with other instructors and staff.
- Ability to consider and respond appropriately to the needs, feelings and capabilities of students, to provide feedback and treat students equitably.
- Learn and use technology to enhance the student learning experience.
- Vehicle is required.
