The Program Worker - Sign Language Interpreter role is essential in creating an inclusive atmosphere at School District 71. You will interpret classroom interactions and educational materials while collaborating with educators to boost student communication. Key Responsibilities:

• Interpret educational materials and classroom interactions

• Collaborate with the Teacher of the Deaf on student support

• Educate peers on effective communication strategies

• Collect observational data and give feedback to staff

• Perform related duties as directed by supervisors

Requirements:

• ASL-English Interpreting diploma required

• Bachelor’s degree preferred

• Two years of professional interpreting experience

• Active membership in WAVLI or similar associations

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
