Winnipeg ASL Tutor Position

In this position, you'll support students in K-12 in various schools across the Winnipeg School Division. You'll lead engaging ASL lessons focused on vocabulary, engagement techniques, and grammar rules, working individually or in small groups for 30 to 60 minutes. Close cooperation with the Teacher of the Deaf will enhance students' learning experiences and track progress.
Key Responsibilities:
• Teach students essential ASL grammatical structures
• Facilitate individual or small group sessions effectively
• Develop and prepare lesson plans and materials
• Document and maintain detailed progress records
• Communicate regularly about student progress and Deaf culture
Requirements:
• Native ASL user with thorough knowledge of Deaf Culture
• Training or experience in teaching ASL preferred
• Good organizational skills and ability to work independently
• Familiarity with elementary and secondary educational standards is helpful
• Dedication to equity, diversity, and community collaboration
