The Robert Gillespie Academic Skills Centre is hiring multiple positions for the Math Background Tutorials, designed to bridge the gap from high school to university math. Candidates must have a mathematics degree and prior TA experience in first‑year calculus. Availability for training and workshops in August is essential to fulfill the role successfully.
Key Responsibilities- Facilitate and guide tutorial sessions daily
- Engage with students in math problem‑solving activities
- Attend mandatory training sessions
- Evaluate quizzes and provide feedback
- Conduct engaging review sessions throughout the program
- Completed degree or major/minor in mathematics
- Experience as a TA at the University of Toronto
- Obliged to attend all training and tutorial sessions
- Prior experience tutoring within the MBT program is an asset
- Commitment to fostering diversity within the learning setting
