Simcoe County Student Success Teacher

Make a lasting impact at Simcoe County District School Board as a Student Success Teacher for Grades 7 and 8. This role focuses on enhancing literacy and math engagement for at-risk students.

In this 2-year secondment, you will guide students during their transition from elementary to secondary schooling. Your collaboration with other teachers and your individualized approach to learning will address diverse educational needs through practical interventions in reading, writing, and math. Engage students through creative learning approaches that benefit all in Region 5.

Key Responsibilities:

• Facilitate engagement opportunities in literacy and math

• Support pathways planning for at-risk students

• Lead professional development for staff

• Mentor at-risk students with personalized support

• Develop experiential learning activities to boost engagement

Requirements:

• Ontario Teacher’s Certificate of Qualification

• University degree with junior/intermediate qualifications

• Experience teaching Grades 7 and 8

• Minimum five years of teaching experience

• Preferred Special Education qualifications
