Behavior Support Education Specialist

Position: Behavior Support Education Specialist Role
Lead behavioral support initiatives at Cape Breton‑Victoria Regional Centre for Education as a Specialist in Behavior Support Education. Focus on personalized intervention strategies for students with complex behaviors.

This role requires expertise in supporting diverse learners facing behavioral challenges. A Master’s Degree in Inclusive Education along with five years of experience in related programs is essential. Your capabilities in Applied Behavior Analysis and communication will be key in promoting effective learning outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the creation of tailored behavior management plans

• Directly teach and model appropriate behaviors

• Collaborate and coach educators in support practices

• Implement comprehensive, evidence-based supports school-wide

• Work with families and external agencies to ensure student support

Requirements:

• Master's Degree in Inclusive Education or similar

• Minimum 5 years in behavioral intervention experience

• Initiation or completion of BCBA training

• Proven skills in collaboration and coaching

• Insight into how developmental trauma affects education
