Position: Tutor for Student Literacy and Numeracy
Join the CLOSING THE GAP TUTOR PROGRAM as a Tutor focused on enhancing literacy and numeracy skills in students through the Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board. Provide essential one-on-one support.

This tutoring position is designed to support students struggling with literacy and numeracy. You will engage with specific student groups, enhance your skills through required training sessions, and effectively utilize technology during tutoring. All tutors must submit a current Vulnerable Sector Police check before starting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist students with their literacy and numeracy difficulties

• Engage with designated groups for targeted academic help

• Attend training sessions as required by the program

• Use technology to support educational interactions

• Ensure a current Vulnerable Sector Police check is submitted

Requirements:

• Graduate from a recognized Ontario postsecondary institution

• Knowledge of childhood development strategies

• Strong computer skills required

• Complete mandatory training sessions prior to tutoring

• Awareness of Catholic Social Teaching is an asset

Provide impactful support to students' educational journeys as a Literacy and Numeracy Tutor.
