Make a meaningful impact as a Cultural Coordinator, nurturing identity in children and families. This full-time role focuses on culturally appropriate services and mentorship within the community.
We are looking for a Cultural Coordinator to provide critical support to children, youth, and families, emphasizing Indigenous knowledge and cultural identity. You will connect with children in care and facilitate access to traditional teachings and community gatherings. This role plays a vital part in supporting the well-being of Indigenous youth through culturally relevant advocacy and mentoring.
Key Responsibilities:
• Extend connections through mentorship and cultural teachings
• Enhance service delivery for children in care
• Facilitate inter-generational land-based teachings
• Support the FWB Team with planning and coordination
• Organize cultural events and activities for community engagement
Requirements:
• Diploma in Social Work or equivalent experience
• Experience with families, youth, and children
• Facilitation and community development expertise
• Deep understanding of Anishinabek culture
• Strong relational and independent working skills
Be a key figure in shaping culturally grounded support systems for Indigenous youth and their families.
