Indigenous Studies Instructor

Position: Indigenous Studies Instructor Needed
Join the University of Manitoba as a Sessional Instructor for INDG 2020 G07, The Métis in Canada, from August 24 to December 25, 2026. Your expertise will empower students to engage deeply with Indigenous cultures.

This position involves crafting instructional materials, leading classes, and grading student work, all while offering constructive feedback. Applicants should have a strong academic background, with a preference for Master’s degree holders or Ph.D. candidates, and previous teaching experience in relevant subjects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create and prepare instructional materials for the course

• Instruct and assess students effectively during the semester

• Grade student exams and provide meaningful feedback

• Conduct regular office hours for student support and guidance

• Participate in academic meetings relevant to the course

Requirements:

• Master’s degree or Ph.D. preferred

• Excellent communication skills in writing and speech

• Specialized knowledge in Indigenous studies field

• Demonstrated teaching ability in post-secondary education

• Empathetic towards diverse student concerns
