Responsibilities- Develop and initially license new child care facilities.
- Expand existing child care facilities to increase licensed child care spaces.
- Manage annual re‑licensing of child care facilities.
- Monitor and report on compliance with legislation and policies.
- Assess and enhance the quality of child care facilities.
- Develop and deliver child care resources and information to providers, parents and community groups.
- Consult on child care facility design guidelines and governance structure.
- Assess related programming best practices and support knowledge.
- Consult on annual child care facility budgets.
- Degree or Diploma in Early Childhood Education or Developmental Studies and Early Childhood Educator III certification (or equivalent combination).
- Extensive experience in a childcare centre, nursery school or family child care setting.
- Excellent observation skills to analyse and discern information for regulatory compliance.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective relationships with diverse groups.
- Experience interpreting and applying legislation, regulations and policies.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines. - Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) or similar.
- Sound problem‑solving and conflict resolution skills.
- Knowledge and understanding of Early Learning and Child Care in Manitoba.
- Legally entitled to work in Canada.
- Maintain satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search.
- Maintain satisfactory Child Abuse Registry Check.
- Possess a valid full Class 5 Manitoba Driver’s licence and have access to a vehicle.
- Available to work evenings and weekends, on occasion.
- Travel within the Province of Manitoba as required.
