Join The University of Winnipeg as a contract academic staff member for HIST-. Teach a focused course on the History of Modern Medicine from December 2026.
The Faculty of Arts is looking for qualified candidates to teach the History of Modern Medicine course. The position spans from December 2026 to May 2027, featuring 12 engaging classes with an expected enrollment of 48 students. Applicants should have completed post-M.A. studies, preferably with a minimum ABD qualification.
Key Responsibilities:
• Teach a total of 12 classes during the term
• Facilitate classroom discussions and student engagement
• Assess and provide feedback on assignments
• Develop and manage the course syllabus
• Foster an inclusive atmosphere for diverse student backgrounds
Requirements:
• Minimum of ABD in a relevant field
• Prior teaching experience in higher education
• Strong understanding of scientific medicine evolution
• Class availability on M/W afternoons
• Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion
