Position: HIST-1006-002 Contract Instructor Wanted
Join the University of Winnipeg as a contract instructor for HIST-, focusing on Indigenous History. Deliver impactful lessons in a 12-class series this winter term.

The University of Winnipeg is looking for Contract Academic Staff to lead the course Indigenous History to 1900 in the History Department. This position runs from December 4, 2026, to May 14, 2027, accommodating a class size of approximately 60 students. Candidates are required to have ABD status in Post M.A. studies, which will aid in delivering quality education in this pivotal subject area.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct lectures on Indigenous History covering essential themes

• Design syllabus and course assignments effectively

• Provide mentorship and academic support

• Facilitate discussions about historical implications

• Assess and grade assignments on historical analyses

Requirements:

• Required ABD status in Post M.A. studies

• In-depth knowledge of Indigenous histories necessary

• Teaching experience preferred but not mandatory

• Passion for inclusive and diverse teaching strategies

• Commitment to a teaching schedule from January-April
