The University of Winnipeg invites applications for a Contract Academic Staff role to teach Applications of Database Systems this Fall. Enhance your teaching career while engaging students in Winnipeg from September to December 2026.
This contract position involves 12 classes focused on Database Systems, held on Thursday evenings. Applicants should possess a
B.Sc. in Computer Science or a related field and be knowledgeable in the course material. Teaching experience at the university level is an asset to help foster a dynamic learning experience for the students.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the Applications of Database Systems course
• Conduct 12 classes with up to 45 students
• Evaluate and provide feedback on student assignments
• Prepare engaging course content and teaching aids
• Maintain a welcoming and inclusive educational atmosphere
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
• Proven experience with database systems topics
• University-level teaching experience preferred
• Strong presentation and interpersonal skills
• Commitment to equity and diversity in education
