EALC Lab Teaching Assistant

Join the University of Winnipeg as a Teaching Assistant for EALC-2100L. This role involves tutoring students in Intermediate Japanese and supporting their learning journey every week.

As a Teaching Assistant in the Academic Capacity 2 category, you’ll provide essential guidance and feedback to students while facilitating lab sessions from September 2026 through April 2027. You’ll be responsible for instructing students on concepts, grading work, and developing instructional materials. Your effective communication skills and empathy will ensure students grasp the subject's intricacies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide tutoring and instruction for Japanese language

• Facilitate lab sessions addressing student coursework

• Provide consultation on grading and coursework

• Assist in developing tests and materials

• Monitor the learning environment for safety

Requirements:

• Graduate or upper-level undergraduate student

• Native or near-native Japanese fluency

• Strong oral and written communication skills

• Ability to work independently

• Experience or knowledge in teaching
