Become a sessional instructor for SOC 3720, focusing on Criminal Law and Its Procedure, at the University of Manitoba. This course offers a chance to engage with students and assess their learning beginning January 1, 2027.
The Department of Sociology in the Faculty of Arts seeks qualified instructors for teaching this critical course. Candidates with advanced degrees and relevant teaching experience are preferred. Duties include preparing teaching materials, grading, and providing regular student support through office hours.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop instructional materials for SOC 3720 course
• Instruct and engage students in learning activities
• Evaluate and grade student assessments thoroughly
• Provide constructive feedback to improve outcomes
• Maintain office hours for student assistance
Requirements:
• Master's or Ph.D. degree is preferred
• Strong communication skills in English
• Relevant background in criminal law and procedure
• Competence in teaching within higher education required
• Empathetic to student instructional needs
