Position: Contract English Instructor at UWinnipeg
Shape future poets as a Contract Academic Staff member for the University of Winnipeg. Teach Poetry & Poetic Form in this fall semester position with a focus on engaging student learning.

The University of Winnipeg's Faculty of Arts is seeking a qualified individual for the role of Contract Academic Staff in the English Department. This position runs from August 17, 2026, to January 25, 2027, and involves teaching 24 classes in a semester. Successful candidates will hold an MA or MFA and have experience in innovative teaching methods.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver 24 classes on Poetry & Poetic Form

• Engage and assess a projected enrolment of 35 students

• Prepare course materials and lesson plans

• Foster a diverse and inclusive learning environment

• Meet all contractual obligations as specified

Requirements:

• Master’s degree (MA or MFA) in English or related field

• Teaching experience at the post-secondary level

• Commitment to diversity and inclusion in education

• Excellent communication and organizational skills

• Ability to adapt to online or in-person teaching formats
