ENGL Sessional Teaching

Position: ENGL 1400 Sessional Teaching Position
The University of Manitoba invites applications for a Sessional Instructor for ENGL 1400, starting September 1, 2026. This position requires engaging with students in a dynamic learning environment.

Instruct students on thematic literature approaches through ENGL 1400 in the Faculty of Arts. Ideal candidates will possess a Master's degree, Ph.D., or be a Ph.D. candidate with teaching experience.

Your role will involve preparing course materials and providing feedback to foster student growth during the semester ending December 31, 2026.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare relevant instructional materials for students

• Teach, instruct, and facilitate learning in ENGL 1400

• Grade exams and assignments with constructive feedback

• Hold regular office hours for student interaction

• Address instructional needs of students empathetically

Requirements:

• Master’s or Ph.D. in English or related subject

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Proven teaching competence at the post-secondary level

• Specialized background in subject matter required

• Prior teaching experience in similar fields preferred
